London is a very interesting city full of attractions and cultural settings. Before traveling, I tried to read as much information as possible to put together a really cool script to enjoy the week there.
London Tour: Things to do in London
We start the day by visiting the Tower of London – where the royal family jewels are. From there we walked to Tower Bridge – the famous London Bridge. We crossed Tower Bridge and continued along the River Thames heading south (towards Waterloo). There are many cool places to see / go down this road, such as the town hall building, the HMS Belfast warship and the Hay’s Galleria.
Our breakfast was at Hummingbird Cafe – a cute and yummy place near where we were staying. We took the subway and went to Green Park station to start the day visiting Buckingham Palace. From there, we continue along the avenue The Mall. Traveling along this avenue, we take the opportunity to visit St. James Park on the right and Green Park on the left. Follow the Mall to Trafalgar Square to visit the National Gallery. We ended up having dinner at one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants.
We start the day by going down at the Oxford Circus tube station to visit the Oxford Circus area. From there, we headed towards Soho to visit. We had lunch at one of the countless restaurants and then took the subway and headed to St John’s Wood station to visit the famous street where The Beatles hit the cover photo for the Abbey Road album.
We went to Hyde Park in the morning. From there we went on a tour of the recording studios of the Harry Potter films – The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios. We went to Watford Junction station and from there we went to King’s Cross station where the 9 3/4 platform where Harry Potter takes the Hogwarts Express.
We went to Windsor to visit the castle of the same name. Windsor Castle is the oldest still inhabited castle in the world and also one of the official residences of the royal family. The tour to the castle took most of the day and was very worth having all day destined for him.
We dedicate our sixth day in London to meet Notting Hill. We got off at the Notting Hill Gate station and went to try the breakfast at Recipe – Jamie Oliver’s coffee shop. From there, we continue to Portobello Road. We explore the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Last full day in London. We headed towards Royal Victoria station to cross the Thames from cable car – the Emirates cable car. It goes to the North Greenwich station. From there we went to Canary Wharf. We went to see the Greenwich area. We descended at the Cutty Sark station. We had lunch at Greenwich Market and walked to Greenwich Park. The place is on the park’s hill. We visit Cutty Sark, a ship built in the 19th century. We finished the day at the Oxo Tower restaurant.
